As we approach the end of 2017, the nation of Puerto Rico, including its diaspora, is still feeling the devastating effects of Hurricane Maria, which cut a destructive path through the Island in late September.
The Puerto Rican Studies Association (PRSA) is the only inter-disciplinary professional organization dedicated solely to the study of Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans in the United States.
Our biannual conference is scheduled for October 26-28, 2018 and will be held at Rutgers University. The conference will focus on the many challenges facing Boricuas in Puerto Rico and in the United States. We hope to bring together scholars, community leaders and artists to explore solutions.
Many young scholars face delays to their studies because of damage to colleges and universities caused by Hurricane Maria. Please contribute to the PRSA Graduate Student Travel Grant so that we can help subsidize the participation of graduate students in the biennial conference.
